To participate in BRB's 2020 Virtual Recital, please read below for fun suggestions on photos and videos!      


Please submit any or all of the following:

  • Take 3 beautiful photos posing with your hat in an interested place or environment 

  • Video our "The Entertainer" choreography in an interested place or environment (practice video below)

  • Video our dance again from an unusual perspective, such as angling the camera up from a low level or pointing down from a high level. 

  • Polka continuously anywhere with the camera following you (ex. around the whole house or a big outdoor space).  

  • Run and tuck jump video  

  • Run and leap video 

  • Video of curtsey or bow without hat like the end of ballet class 

  • Create your own 8-count hat phrase 

  • Interview Question: Please ask your child to complete the phrase "Dancing makes me feel __________ because ____________________."

Site-specific dance is defined as a performance that has been designed to exist in a certain place outside of the traditional stage. 


One of the first to explore site-specific dance was postmodernist choreographer Trisha Brown. who took dances to rooftops, vertical walls, rafts floating in a pond and a variety of other unconventional spaces.


Your assignment is to choreograph your own site-specific dance within the space you have during this quarantine. The solo must be at least 45 seconds and no longer than a minute. 

Submit no later than May 30 to participate. All submissions will be included!
